Mooncake Boxes In 2014 – Colorful and Diversified

Blog category: ,

Nikko

This year, for its mooncake box, Nikko sticks with the traditional square shape and yellow color which symbolizes the bright moon light. At first glance, Nikko’s box is not exceptionally noteworthy. However, the elegance of this design stems from the sophisticated printing and crafting techniques, together with the leather surface and the blind stamped ‘family gathering’ artwork on the side of the box.

Phuc Long

Phuc Long’s mooncake box comes in 3 sizes (2, 4, 6-cake box) and 3 colors (green, yellow, violet). Each type consists of 2 designs: one is appealing in a modernistic way, while the other follows a more traditional style with moon and flowers illustration. Both designs are generally not too elaborate, but successfully signify high class, luxury, and modernity.

Park Hyatt

Park Hyatt’s mooncake box may look monotonously simple, with only the hotel’s logo printed on the lid in a minimalistic style. But the idea is to make it a valuable gift box for someone who appreciates subtlety, elegance, and simplicity. The square box is wrapped in high-quality taffeta fabric, with the dark, warm brown color distinctive to the brand itself.

W Gourmet

W Gourmet also takes simplicity as the main theme when it adopts a clean round-shaped design. The box comes in all 4 different colors: violet, turquoise, green, and orange. The material for the box is hard plastic. W Gourmet opts for a more Vietnamese-style artwork, using the familiar image of children playing with lanterns found in every Mid-Autumn Festival.

Equatorial

Equatorial is perhaps the hotel that has the widest selection of mooncake boxes this year in terms of design and material: from paper to wood, from the conventional square box to the drawer-inspired chest. It doesn’t stop there, Equatorial also thinks of an idea to reuse the box as a decorative lamp!

New World

New World’s box is designed elegantly in Chinese style with brocade fabric cover. Customers can choose either the traditional red color or the New World Saigon Hotel 20th anniversary special edition’s green color.
