The designer's guide to the Golden Ratio

Blog category:

The Golden Ratio, also known as the Golden Mean, the Golden Section, or the Greek letter Phi, is a common mathematical ratio that can be found everywhere in nature. It creates a pleasant, hamonious look to everything that is in proportion to it.

The Golden Ratio has been in use since ancient times, and in mordern days, it still holds value. Perhaps even higher than ever.  It exists in photography, painting, graphic design, and web layout, to name a few.

Whether you're an illustrator, art director or graphic designer, it's well worth taking the Golden Ratio into account on any of your design projects.

This article from Creative Bloq explains what it is, how to apply it, and provides you with some great examples for further inspiration and study.
